Wow!

My blog is still here – it’s been ages since I’ve used it!

I don’t know what forced the hiatus, except to say that the last few months have been… interesting. Some stuff has happened at work that’s really put a dent in my confidence – now I’m trying to build it all back up again but sometimes it really feels like I’m fighting a losing battle. There are a couple of people who seem to be supporting me though, so I’m sure I’ll pull through!

I’m working on an IT project now for the company, as well as my normal day job – which is excellent, because it’s something I’ve always been interested in doing. I’m really lucky to work for a company whose upper management is continually trying to challenge and guide their employees – and it’s also helping to give me a break from the day to day tedium that is my day job. Sometimes the people just give me the shits – and the IT thing is a welcome break from all that. I’ve just spent a week and a half in Sydney working on this other project (we’re considering a full ERP system for the group) and it’s given me a chance to really collect my thoughts and hopefully I can go back to work tomorrow in a much more positive frame of mind.

The car is going great, it now has new wheels, tail lights, number plates, shifter, strewth, what else? Actually it’s a different car than the one I had when I last blogged – same model, same colour, but I traded the auto in for a six speed manual, and boy, is it fun to drive now!

It’s also caused me to branch off into the car circle locally which has been great. I’m pretty involved in the Tassie Cruise Club and we’re also starting a Commodore club down here which should be fun and interesting – so I’m not posting on Whirlpool as much as I used to because a lot of my internet time has been devoted to getting the site for that up and running (which it is now -located at TasCommodores.com ) 🙂

Oh well, I’d better go wash the car – today is the first day of daylight savings here in Tassie so I’ve lost an hour of my day!
